					Laziness

					Introduction:

It has always been God’s intention that men be involved in

					II Thessalonians 3:10)
Laziness is condemned throughout the Bible. Lazy: sluggish,
slothful, not willing to exert oneself (II
					Thessalonians 3:11)
Are we lazy, especially in our work in the kingdom? (Romans
					12:11)

					What Causes Laziness?

					·

Lack of motivation – staying in bed too long! (Proverbs
					6:6-11)
Look at others and learn. Use time wisely. (Ephesians
					5:15-16)
					(Proverbs
					24:30-34)
Don’t lie down on the job. There is much church work to do.

					·

Idleness often leads to laziness. (Proverbs
					19:15)
Many get used to not working and like it! Jesus was never
idle. Notice Mark’s use of “straightway” and “immediately”
to describe Jesus’ activities. Jesus didn’t wait until he
“felt like it.” We must exercise spiritually. (I
					Timothy 4:7-8)

					·

The lazy man makes excuses. (Proverbs
					22:13)
He wants others to do the work for him.
